The world’s greatest snow-capped peaks, which run in a chain from the Himalayas to Tian Shan on the border of China and Kyrgyzstan, have lost no ice over the last decade, new research shows.

The supposed ‘consensus’ on man-made global warming is facing an inconvenient challenge after the release of new temperature data showing the planet has not warmed for the past 15 years.

Good to know not everyone in the science community is a political puppet

We are harangued about the horrors and EVIL that will befall us if the world warms even 1/2 degree C. We are told that at 2 C it is the end of life as we know it. The world will end in a drowned plague ridden state. Is there any way to check this? Some way to ask: “What would the world be like if it was a little colder, or a lot warmer?”

Prof Judith Curry, a member of Prof Muller’s team, [claims] the same findings have shown that global warming has stopped – plunging the rest of us into a quandary of what and who to believe.

When Prof Curry heard that Prof Muller was saying that the Berkeley Earth Surface Temperature (BEST) findings would put an end to climate change scepticism for good she was horrified. “This isn’t the end of scepticism,” she exclaimed.

“To say that is the biggest mistake he has made. When I saw he was saying that I just thought, ‘Oh my God.’”

Prof Muller, of Berkeley University in California, and Prof Curry, who chairs the Department Of Earth And Atmospheric Sciences at America’s Georgia Institute of Technology, were part of the BEST project that carried
out analysis of more than 1.6 billion temperature recordings collected from more than 39,000 weather stations around the world.

Climatologists may be basing their apocalyptic predictions of global warming on faulty data. 42% of the temperature gauges used in global warming research are improperly sited, the General Accounting Office reported. Improperly sited temperature gauges near water tanks, buildings and air conditioners could render the data from the gauges as useless as the gauges would be temperatures that were artificially raised by these man-made structures.

Scientists have known about these problems for years, and yet as late as last year, nearly half the temperature gauges in the 48 contiguous states (the Lower 48) are improperly placed.

Leading scientists have accused the world’s top cartographers of making a blunder in their representation of the effects of climate change in Greenland, prompting a robust defence by the map-makers’ publisher…..

In a letter to the editors of the Times Atlas they agree that the Greenland ice cover is reducing but at nowhere near the extent claimed in the book. “A 15% decrease in permanent ice cover since the publication of the previous atlas 12 years ago is both incorrect and misleading.

Dr. Ivar Giaever, a former professor with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the 1973 winner of the Nobel Prize in physics, abruptly announced his resignation Tuesday, Sept. 13, from the premier physics society in disgust over its officially stated policy that “global warming is occurring.”

The official position of the American Physical Society (APS) supports the theory that man’s actions have inexorably led to the warming of the planet, through increased emissions of carbon dioxide.

Giaever does not agree — and put it bluntly and succinctly in the subject line of his email, reprinted at Climate Depot, a website devoted to debunking the theory of man-made climate change.
